Совет округа Джаспер переименовал новый медицинский комплекс в честь покойного доктора Рона Макмюрри

The board of the Jasper Hospital District voted on Tuesday to name the new medical complex on Marvin Hancock Drive after the late Dr. Ron McMurry, a Jasper native and longtime physician who served on the board for many years. In other business, the board also agreed to provide just over $120,000 in funding for health care and nursing assistance at the Jasper County Jail to ensure inmates receive the right medication and minor medical care. After the discussion, the board also voted to purchase over $9,000 in equipment for routine eye examinations for Pre-K through 2nd Grade at Parnell Elementary School. McMurry, who was a lone voice of the hospital district for many years, questioning many of the group's actions or alleged failures to address certain issues, was instrumental in the expansion of health services in the area and was serving as president of the district at the time of his death in January of this year.
