Ушел из жизни 67-летний фермер Тони Маккарти, прославившийся любовью к семье и соседям

Anthony “Tony” McCarty, 67, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Aug. 27, 2026, in Kimberly, WI. Tony was a graduate of the 1977 class at Owensboro Catholic High School. He was passionate about farming from a young age. He farmed for his entire life, growing corn and soybeans, and was most proud of his numerous awards from various crop yield contests. Even after retirement, he worked as a farmer any way he could, including growing fresh vegetables in his garden every summer. When asked about farming however, Tony would always respond that his greatest dream was having a family. He met and married Sandra (Menting) in 2002 and they raised three children together — Stella, Mae, and Eli. He is best known for the love he had for others: helping Stella move in and out of college dorms and apartments, going on long conversational walks with Mae, and helping Eli with his truck and welding projects. Every summer, he helped mow neighbor’s lawns, every winter, he shoveled their driveways, and year-round, he was a great companion. Tony could make a friend out of anyone and made countless friendships on his walks throughout the neighborhood. He was an incredibly kind, hardworking, and giving man who was a gift to everyone who knew him. Tony was a lifelong member of Saint Martin Parish in Owensboro, KY. He celebrated his faith in the way he lived every day. He volunteered at every barbecue and church event and was an integral part of the faith community. Tony was preceded in death by his parents Claude and Rosa Lee (Fogle) McCarty, his father-in-law Raymond Menting, and his sister-in-law, Gidget Menting. Tony is survived by his wife, Sandra McCarty (Menting), children Stella, Mae, and Eli McCarty, mother-in-law Jane Menting, siblings Greg (Leah) McCarty, Dan (Lisa) McCarty, Maureen (Pete) Armendarez, Mary (Jeff) Pritchett, and Karen (Greg) Lewis, sisters- and brothers-in-law Sue (Harry) Kratz, Dorothy (Robert) Koenig, Gail (Ivan) Chavez, Patsy (Guy) Swick, Tony (Stacy) Menting, and Rick (Gina) Menting. He is further survived by many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews, family friends, and the extended farming community of Daviess County, Kentucky. A Funeral Mass for Tony will be held on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 410 Wallace St., Combined Locks. Visitation will begin at the church starting at 9:30 a.m. and will continue until the time of the Mass. For online condolences, please visit www.verkuilenfh.com.
