Ушел из жизни 68-летний Уэйн Дэвис, известный своей самоотверженностью и любовью к морю

Leading a life of putting others first wasn’t simply something Wayne Davis believed in, it was the way he lived every single day. Through his kindness, generosity, loyalty, and genuine care for others, Wayne quietly modeled for all who knew him what it means to live a good and meaningful life. The world lost an amazing man on Friday night, August 7, 2026, when Wayne Davis, 68, passed away following a courageous two-year battle with cancer. To say Wayne was one of the nicest people you could ever meet would be an understatement. He was the kind of person who made you feel welcome, who would lend a hand without being asked, and who cared more about what he could do for others than what others could do for him. He was family and friend to so many, and whether you knew Wayne for a lifetime or only for a short while, chances are you walked away from him feeling a little better than you did before. Wayne, a third-generation lobsterman, had a deep love for the ocean - lobstering and fishing were among his greatest passions. They brought him happiness, peace, and countless memories shared with the people he loved. He appreciated life’s simple gifts: the water, his dog Willow, his horse Jada, family, friends, a good conversation at the “shore” on Goose Cove, and time spent with those who mattered most. But Wayne’s greatest legacy will not be measured by the things he did or the places he went. It will be measured by the people he loved and the countless lives he touched along the way. Even as his own journey was coming to an end, Wayne was thinking about everyone else. Before leaving this world, he asked that one final message be shared with all those he was not able to see: “Tell everyone I love them and I’m going to miss them.” Those words perfectly capture Wayne. Even at the end, his thoughts were with the people he loved. Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Deanna; his faithful pup, Willow; his steadfast horse, Jada; his brother, Ed Davis, and Lisbeth; his sister, Jane Howard; his brother, Robert Davis, and Brenda; his brother, Brian Davis, and Laurie; a very special aunt, Catherine; his cousin, Linda Lynch, and Mike; several beloved nieces, nephews, and a godson; and his sister-in-law, Denise Hilton. He also leaves behind an extended circle of family and friends who were fortunate enough to know and love him. Wayne was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Margaret and Virgil Greenlaw; his father and his partner, Edwin Davis and Glenice Carter; and his brother-in-law, Darren Hilton. There are some people whose lives quietly teach the rest of us how to live. Wayne was one of those people. Wayne’s “way” taught us to put others first. To be kind when kindness costs nothing. To help when someone needs a hand. To appreciate the simple things. To love our family and friends deeply. To say what matters while we still have the opportunity to say it. And, above all, to live each day with intention and impact. The measure of a life is not simply the number of years we are given, but what we do with those years and how we make others feel along the way. By that measure, Wayne lived an extraordinary life. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and never forgotten. And for everyone fortunate enough to have known him, perhaps the best way to honor Wayne is simply to live a little more like he did - with kindness, generosity, humility, and love. That was Wayne’s way. And what a beautiful way to live. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date in September.
