WESTBOROUGH – It was the best kind of déjà vu for the fine folks at Westborough TV. In 2025, the non-profit organization – which records government meetings, documents local events, and provides an invaluable service to the local community – came away with the Hometown Media Award for Overall Excellence in Public Access. The award, bestowed by the Alliance for Community Media Foundation, is among the top honors a multimedia organization can earn. In September 2026, Westborough TV announced it had won the Hometown Media Award for Overall Excellence in Public Access – again! General Manager Karen Henderson, Studio Manager Aidan Horrigan, and Technical Editor and Producer Tim Schwab are behind the success. "Our team puts in an immense amount of effort to cover as much going on in town as we can while keeping the quality as high as possible," said Henderson. "I couldn't be prouder of our staff, especially coming off last year's recognition. Tim Schwab has delivered really incredible, high-quality work for us for the past three years, resulting in many of these honors, and Aidan Horrigan continues to do great work both on our videos and as our studio manager.” She added: “The creative and thoughtful storytelling that Tim and Aidan bring to our projects consistently resonates with our residents and town departments, and it's wonderful to see industry professionals recognize that talent as well. A huge thank you to the community of Westborough for your continued support." The Alliance for Community Media Hometown Media also awarded Schwab for his coverage of Mill Pond School's 2025 “Make the World a Better Place” Business Fair. Westborough TV also took home several Telly Awards, including Silver Telly awards for Schwab’s “Public Access Media: Building Stronger Communities” and “DPW Works for You,” and a Bronze Telly for Schwab’s “Welcome to Westborough, Massachusetts.” Horrigan narrated the “DPW” and “Welcome to Westborough” projects. "Public Access Media: Building Stronger Communities" also won Excellence in General-Non-Profit for Film & Video at the Communicator Awards. Westborough TV is a non-profit community media center dedicated to connecting the residents of Westborough, Massachusetts, through hyper-local programming, town meeting coverage, educational access, and engaging digital media.
