(Sponsored) With Southern Utah continuing to grow as a destination for RV travelers and outdoor enthusiasts, one locally owned and operated business is evolving alongside it. High Desert RV Mobile Service recently opened a new shop in Washington City, giving customers access to full-service repair capabilities while continuing the convenient mobile response that has helped build its reputation over the past decade.
The expansion marks an important milestone for owner Brandon Quayle, who launched High Desert RV in 2015. After years of serving customers throughout the region at their homes, campsites and storage facilities, the company now offers the best of both worlds with on-site mobile repairs and a brick-and-mortar location equipped to handle more extensive projects.
“I want to be here for the customer,” he said. “They need to be able to trust that the job's going to get done right.”
High Desert RV is hosting a grand opening for the new shop, located at 173 S. Warehouse Road, Unit 1, in Washington City, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 11. The event will feature food vendors, giveaways and special discounts on services. Local RV owners are invited to meet the team, tour the facility and learn more about its expanded capabilities.
The new location allows High Desert RV to perform repairs and upgrades that were previously impossible in a mobile environment. Larger insurance claims, warranty repairs, roof replacements, electrical work, solar installations and more can now be completed in a climate-controlled workspace designed specifically for RV service.
That means repairs can continue regardless of weather conditions while RVs remain protected throughout the process. The shop also provides space for more specialized customization work, particularly for customers interested in outfitting their units for extended off-grid travel, one of the industry’s fastest-growing segments.
The company now performs solar installations, lithium battery conversions, inverter upgrades and other electrical work designed to help RV owners spend more time away from traditional campgrounds. These modifications can reduce dependence on generators while providing enough power to operate modern conveniences during lengthy stays at Bureau of Land Management sites and other remote camping locations.
The addition of a shop also allows High Desert RV to stock commonly needed components on-site. Faster access to parts can significantly reduce repair times, getting customers back on the road sooner.
Advanced electrical diagnostics are another of the company's specialties. Modern RVs have become increasingly sophisticated, incorporating complex electrical systems, solar arrays, lithium battery technology, inverters, hydraulic systems and computerized appliances that require specialized training and experience.
“I actually have the licensing and the certifications to stand behind my work,” Quayle said. “Your RV will always leave better than the way I found it.”
Years of experience have given Quayle insight into how different RV systems perform across Southern Utah's varied environments. That understanding helps customers prepare their rigs for everything from desert heat to high-elevation camping.
Air conditioning service remains one of the company's most in-demand offerings during the summer months. High Desert RV helps travelers stay comfortable with preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and complete A/C replacements.
Generator maintenance is another popular service, particularly for customers planning remote camping trips. Routine inspections, tune-ups and repairs can help prevent inconvenient breakdowns when reliable power is essential.
High Desert RV continues to focus on personalized service, quality workmanship and building long-term relationships with the community, rather than seeking high-volume repairs like many of the area’s larger shops. With a loyal following and expanding customer base, opening a permanent location became the logical next step to provide greater flexibility without sacrificing the convenient mobile service local RV owners rely on.
“I've always wanted to launch a brick-and-mortar,” Quayle shared. “I just never really had the guts to, but I finally just went for it. I figured I’ve got to at least try. I'll never know unless I try, right?”
Being locally owned also remains an important part of the company's identity. Having lived in Southern Utah his entire life and spent much of his career in the industry – his family previously owned Desert Coach RV – Quayle understands both the community and the needs of the area's growing RV population. The business is currently operated by him and his wife, with their son learning the trade as well.
Whether customers need routine maintenance before a trip, repairs after storm damage, advanced electrical diagnostics or a complete solar and lithium upgrade for off-grid adventures, High Desert RV now offers both mobile service and a dedicated shop to meet every need.
