В Вайнаки открылась новая средняя школа с современными пространствами для обучения

WAUNAKEE, Wis. -- A new chapter is underway for students in the Waunakee Community School District as the brand-new Waunakee Community Middle School welcomes students into its new home. Waunakee Community Middle School is located at 501 South Street in Waunakee and serves students in grades seven and eight. The state-of-the-art building measures roughly 235,637 square feet and officially opened for the 2026-27 school year. The new school replaces the district's previous middle school facility and was made possible through a 2022 community-approved referendum. The project is part of the district's long-range facilities plan, which also included construction of the new Heritage Elementary School. District leaders say the new building was designed around modern learning and collaboration. The school features flexible spaces intended to encourage creativity, exploration, collaboration and student engagement, while creating a stronger sense of connection and belonging. For students, the new facility provides updated classrooms and learning environments as they make the transition into their middle school years. The district says the goal is to give students the knowledge, skills and confidence they need not only for middle school, but for success in high school and beyond. There is an ribbon-cutting and open house event scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 13 from 1 to 3 p.m. COPYRIGHT 2026 BY CHANNEL 3000. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
