Руководитель совета высшего образования Корри уходит на новую должность в Эри

The Corry Higher Education Council will soon undergo a leadership transition as Executive Director Matthew Platz prepares to step down from his position before beginning his new role as Executive Director of the Erie Center for Arts & Technology (ECAT). Platz will begin his new position on September 8 after nearly four years leading the Corry-based organization. Platz guided the Corry Higher Education Council through a period of growth marked by expanded educational programming, workforce development initiatives, community partnerships, and increased grant funding opportunities. Platz described his departure as a difficult decision, noting his strong connection to both the organization and the Corry community. He said the opportunity to continue mission-driven work through ECAT aligned closely with the values that have shaped his career. "The work we do in Corry has reinforced something I believe very strongly: education and opportunity can change the trajectory of an individual, a family, and ultimately an entire community," Platz said. He added that ECAT's focus on education, workforce development, and the arts made the position a natural fit. Although he will be working in Erie, Platz emphasized that he intends to remain connected to Corry and continue supporting the community's ongoing development efforts. He said he believes the city has significant momentum and a bright future. To ensure continuity, the Corry Higher Education Council Board of Directors has appointed Kathryn DiVittorio, the organization's current assistant director, as interim executive director. He will continue working with staff, board members, and community partners in the coming weeks to facilitate a smooth transition before officially joining ECAT.
