Danville, Pa. — An aunt's birthday package to a boy in a treatment facility turned out to contain drugs and weapons, police say.  On Aug. 3, state police were dispatched to North Central Secure Treatment Unit (NCSTU) in Danville for a package containing contraband. The package had been sent by Tara Lee Lugo, 42, of Bensalem. She was trying to send a package to her nephew, who is a minor admitted in NCSTU, for his birthday. The package's contents, among other items, included: Two packs of Errlli Sour Glow THC Worms  A No. 801 taser A box of matches A can of pepper spray A window punch/seatbelt cutter  A keychain knife A pocketknife That same day, police interviewed NCSTU counselor Keith Davis, who said he had spoken to Lugo on the phone shortly after the package was opened. Lugo allegedly told Davis that she had sent the wrong package to the facility, and she meant to send a package to her nephew in NCSTU containing a birthday card and a drawing from her kids.  On Aug. 19, police interviewed another staff member at NCSTU who said he was present when the contraband package was opened. Staff were expecting a package for the patient's birthday containing a card and drawings from Lugo's kids. When he opened the package, a box was inside with a taser in it. The staff member said he took the taser and the package and took it to a secured room. In the room, staff members took everything out of the package and laid it all on a table to take a picture of the items. After the picture was taken, all the items within the package were placed in a safe, and state police were then contacted.  Lugo was charged on Aug. 24 with felony contraband, misdemeanor corruption of minors, possession of drug paraphernalia, distribution of a controlled substance, and providing an offensive weapon. She remains wanted by state police after multiple attempts to contact her were made.  Docket sheet Keep your news local Access to independent, local news is important, do you agree?
