Совет города Юма одобрил закупку товаров через платформу Amazon Business

The Yuma City Council approved an agreement allowing the city to purchase items from Amazon through the Amazon Business platform. Council authorized the purchase of various products offered through Amazon Business utilizing the Omnia Partners cooperative purchase agreement for an estimated annual amount of $500,000. City staff said sufficient budget capacity is provided in the fiscal year 2027 council‑approved budget to authorize use of this cooperative agreement. City staff said the procurement of a wide range of commodities supports ensures that departments have timely access to essential products needed for reliable and efficient operations. Staff said the city evaluated whether procuring products through cooperative purchase agreements or issuing separate solicitations would provide the greatest overall benefit. The evaluation considered pricing, product availability, administrative efficiency, contract terms and the operational needs of city departments. Commodities available under these agreements include sports equipment, automotive parts, furniture, computer peripherals, business supplies, industrial supplies and scientific supplies. Staff recommended using the Omnia Partners cooperative purchase agreement, which was awarded to multiple vendors through a competitive solicitation. They said cooperative purchase agreements allow the city to leverage competitively bid contracts, reduce administrative time, improve purchasing efficiency and often secure more favorable pricing and contract terms than through a separate solicitation. Staff said this approach conserves public funds, supports continuity in service delivery and maintains a consistent, accountable procurement process.
