Пurdue University ввела обязательную авторизацию для доступа к информации о студентах

Purdue University launched its changed directory system on Monday. The new system had reportedly been in the works for some time. Visitors to the directory are now required to sign in with Purdue login information, as this limits “access to student information to those with a legitimate university purpose,” according to university spokesperson Trevor Peters. Previously, anyone was able to search for students in the Purdue Directory. Their name, alias, email and college would show up in the search. Now, anyone without a Purdue account can search, but only staff and faculty come up in the directory results. People must log in with their Purdue accounts to access student information. The university is working on adding school affiliation now, and more information will be released in the coming days, Peters said. Peters also said this change aligns Purdue with many of its other peer institutions. Some of these fellow schools that use authentication for accessing student information include the University of Iowa, University of Michigan, Michigan State University, University of Minnesota Twin Cities and University of Maryland. 2 min to read 2 min to read .....................
