Компания TEVET из Гринвилля организовала визит на атомную подводную лодку USS Greeneville

A group representing local company TEVET recently visited the USS Greeneville submarine while attending a national conference in San Diego.
“Standing aboard the USS Greeneville, meeting the sailors, and seeing firsthand where they live, work, and carry out their mission brings an entirely different perspective to what we do, said Tracy Solomon, founder and CEO of TEVET. “As a Navy veteran and founder of a company headquartered in Greeneville, Tennessee, this experience brought several important parts of my life together. It reinforced why TEVET’s mission to ‘Serve and Honor the Warfighter’ means so much to me personally.”
The TEVET team was attending the Navy Gold Coast annual conference, and Solomon had the opportunity to organize a visit to the U.S. Navy nuclear-powered attack submarine named in honor of Greeneville.
The visit also brought together representatives from several of TEVET’s industry partners, including SAIC, BAE Systems, Keysight Technologies and Collins Aerospace.
The group was welcomed aboard by the submarine’s Commanding Officer, Executive Officer, and Chief of the Boat for a firsthand look at the boat, its mission, and the sailors who serve aboard her.
The visit was a special connection for TEVET, a company founded and headquarters in Greeneville, Solomon’s hometown. The company is a reseller of engineering equipment and supplies and a provider of solutions in technology for aerospace and defense.
Having the opportunity to step aboard the submarine that proudly carries Greeneville’s name around the world brought TEVET’s mission to serve and honor the warfighter even closer to home, according to Julie Stewart, TEVET director of marketing.
Solomon said one unexpected connection made the visit even more memorable. The officers and Chief of the Boat are all Texans. Tennessee and Texas have a proud history of service and sacrifice, so there is something fitting about three Texans leading a submarine that carries Greeneville’s name.
“A special shout-out to Dale Long for his longtime commitment as Greeneville’s ambassador to the USS Greeneville and for helping me make this experience possible. Dale has done an incredible job keeping our hometown connected to the boat and her sailors,” Solomon said. “Most importantly, thank you to the sailors who serve aboard the USS Greeneville, those who served before them, and the families who sacrifice alongside them.”
The USS Greeneville is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its commissioning this year.
