Ник Нильсен назначен новым управляющим отделением Brattleboro Savings & Loan в Уилмингтоне

WILMINGTON — Brattleboro Savings & Loan has found a new branch manager for Wilmington, Nick Nilsen. Nilsen grew up in the valley and, after traveling around the country, he has returned to Wilmington to help lead the bank branch. Nilsen and his wife Amelia were living most recently in California where he worked as a certified financial advisor and, more recently, as a senior banker for the Bank of Montreal. With a career in banking underway, he wanted to continue to work in the sector, but leave California. Nilsen grew up in Wilmington and Amelia grew up in Dover so they already had family here and knew there was a sense of community. “We were living in a resort town in California and it was lovely,” said Nilsen, “but we wanted a place that felt more ‘real’ and where we could imagine raising a family someday.” Although they had originally been looking in the Burlington area, the position at BS&L came up at just the right time. “Of course, I heard from a family friend about the position and it just felt like the right fit for us,” Nilsen said. “We really wanted to bring someone into the bank who understands the community they’ll be serving,” said John Blake, BS&L’s SVP, Retail Banking, in a news release. “The bank’s success is based on three fundamental ideas: service, local-focus, and capabilities. Nick brings all of these pieces.” The role of branch manager deals with day-to-day operations for the branch as well as leading the branch’s growth and services. When they aren’t visiting family and friends, Nick and Amelia hike, ski, enjoy the mountains, like to find a good swimming hole, and perhaps “a good movie sometimes.” “We grew up here and this is what we know as home. We want to enjoy this place and also give back to it because it’s home,” said Nick.
