Винтон провёл фестиваль Boomfest без фейерверков из-за отсутствия шоу и дождливой погоды

VINTON — For the first time in years, August ended without a boom in Vinton — at least, not the kind the city has grown accustomed to. This year marked the first in 18 years that the huge fireworks show known as Boomtown was not hosted in The City of Lights in Benton County. But as if to make up for it, Mother Nature herself sent brief flashes of lightning across the sky and the city rolled with deep rumbling thunder during Boomfest. Boomfest, traditionally held the day of Boomtown, features booths and craft businesses, food trucks, local shop sidewalk sales, and much more. Boomfest went on this year despite the lack of a fireworks show — and the inclimate weather. Showing hardiness worth of this rural town, people by the hundreds showed up anyway, huddled under umbrellas and tent awnings to try to stay dry as they visited the dozens of booths set up. Rain continued off and on throughout the morning, sometimes a light sprinkle, sometimes a downpour, and sometimes even holding off enough for kids and parents alike to enjoy pedal karts and bouncy houses.
