Город Далтон официально признан сообществом «Сердце в фиолетовой ленте»

To the editor: A few months ago, the Dalton Historical Commission, under the leadership of Dennis Croughwell and Deborah Kovacs, took on the monumental task of honoring Dalton’s hometown heroes. The project involved putting up banners recognizing veterans and first responders with past or present ties to Dalton. These banners are prominently displayed along Main and North streets in tribute to those courageous men and women, for all to be reminded of their bravery and sacrifice. This commission along with a myriad of individual volunteers and businesses from the community selflessly and generously gave their time and expertise to complete this stunning project. Recently, Debbi requested the Dalton Select Board to proclaim that Dalton be named a Purple Heart Community. This request was unanimously approved, and staff will soon prepare paperwork and signage to publicize this designation. "Thank you" doesn’t adequately convey the gratitude expressed in this letter, but if you see Dennis or Debbi or any member of the commission, please share your personal appreciation for their countless hours of research and generosity in bringing the Hometown Heroes Project and the naming of Dalton a Purple Heart Community to fruition.
