Combining driving guitars and upbeat production, Burn Down The Disco looks at the rush of attraction becoming something more dangerous. Marriott explained: “Burn Down The Disco is the unveiling of obsession within a relationship. The deconstruction of the version of yourself you display to someone, to be replaced by unabashed, destructive yearning. I wanted to write a song which hit you hard and fast, whose lyrics matched the energy of feeling like you’re losing your mind for someone. It felt like the right teaser of the energy the live shows will take on from now on. It was also the perfect excuse to be a (terrible) superhero in a music video, having never reached these levels of anti-pop before." It follows the Brighton YouTuber-turned-musician's recent main stage performances at the Reading and Leeds Festival and Electric Picnic and comes ahead of one of his biggest shows to date at London's O2 Academy Brixton on September 17, featuring support from Chloe Slater and Hannah Grae. The singer-songwriter will also play shows across Australia in October. Tickets are on sale now. Marriott released his UK chart-topping second studio album, 'Don't Tell the Dog', last summer, though he returned in January with the single California Rain.
