В Фокс Арми Хелт Сентер состоялась церемония передачи полномочий уходящему сержант-майору Холли Берк

Fox Army Health Center held a relinquishment of responsibility ceremony on Friday for Sgt. Maj. Holly Burke. She has served in the Army for 26 years and will be at Fox until September, and she plans to retire in November. “While today is a relinquishment of responsibility, to me, it’s really about gratitude,” Burke said. “Serving as your senior enlisted advisor is one of the greatest honors of my career.” Burke has acted as the senior enlisted advisor at Fox for the last three years, seeing commands from Col. Wendy Gray, Lt. Col. Deepak Mathew and Lt. Col. Aimee Mack. Since there is not an incoming sergeant major for Fox, Burke passed the colors to Mack, signifying that responsibility is now returned to the commander. Mack noted in her speech that Sgt. 1st Class Christopher Castillo will be stepping into the senior enlisted advisor role. “I am confident that (his) experience, leadership and commitment to Soldiers’ families will serve team Fox well,” Mack said. Mack also gave her thanks to Burke, who – through a big smile – reciprocated. “I am deeply honored. To my Fox family, thank you so very much – I can’t say that enough – for your professionalism, dedication and truly your friendship. Everyone here has contributed to making this organization exceptional,’’Burke said. Burke explained that in her eyes, health care “has never been about one person,” she emphasized that it’s always been about making a difference for everyone seen in Fox. Mack said that during Fox’s Joint Commission survey, there were zero findings – “a rare, extraordinary accomplishment.” “It’s a result of the culture you (Burke) helped build and it will remain an important milestone in our history. Your accomplishment could never be captured in a survey report. Your greatest accomplishment is the impact you have on people,” Mack said. Burke gave many thanks and recalled her most fond memories during her three years. She reminded the Fox staff to “remember our mission as you continue moving forward: launching readiness, delivering excellence.” That mission was echoed by the room. Burke closed with one lesson she’s learned in her 26 years of serving her country. “I’ve learned that every problem can be solved with a meeting. So, in retirement, I’d like to test that theory, by not attending a single one.”
