Ушел из жизни 88-летний Дэвид Клок, известный экономист и кларнетист

David J. Klock RUTLAND TOWN — David J Klock, 88, of Rutland Town passed away on July 11, 2026, having lived a life defined by intellect, service, and a deep love of music. Raised in Niskayuna, NY, and graduated from Nott Terrace HS in Schenectady, David earned a BA from Middlebury, after which he served three years in the US Army Financial Corps, including a tour in Korea. He then went on to obtain a PhD in Economics at Columbia University, followed by a Fulbright Scholarship to the Philippines. David went on to build a distinguished 39-year career with the US Treasury Department concentrating on international monetary affairs, during which he served3 years in Canada as the US Treasury Attache. Above all David's true love was music. A classically clarinetist and singer, he played at several venues in the DC area and sang with the Paul Hill Chorale. After retiring to Wallingford, VT, he shared his passion by tutoring, singing in the Rutland area chorus, and playing with several groups and orchestras. For many years he attended summer sessions at the Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music in New Hampshire. David is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lowell Klock; his stepson David Kelly (Lida); his step-grandson Lucas Kelly; his sisters Caroline McLaughlin and Phyllis Dominick, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He had a subtle sense of humor which kept everyone well entertained and joyfully tended his large garden in Wallingford. He loved reading and learning new things, which led to his and Lowell's traveling all over the world. There are no services scheduled, but there will be an interlude of clarinet music played by a former student at Rutland's Grace Church at the end of the 10 am service on September 6th. In place of flowers, donations may be made to Apple Hill Chamber Music Center, Nelson, NH, or Rutland Area Chorus, care of Alistair Stout, Grace Congregational Church, Rutland, VT.
