Совет Нового Карлайсла ввел временный мораторий на открытие новых заправочных станций, автосервисов и тату-салонов

New Carlisle City Council has passed more temporary bans, this time on new gas stations, automotive repair shops, independently owned used motor vehicle sales businesses, buy-here-pay-here motor vehicle sales businesses, payday loan services and pawn shops, as well as new tattoo parlors and body piercing establishments. “The city is in the process of updating its comprehensive plan and concerns have been raised regarding the appropriate location, concentration, compatibility and potential impacts of these types of uses,” said City Manager Donald Hall. “City council determined that additional study is needed to evaluate their appropriate locations and concentration, as well as the operational standards and zoning classifications that should apply to them.” The two temporary moratoriums will allow council time to continue to review and update regulations if needed, Hall said. They will be in place for 12 months through next July. New Carlisle has two gas stations, five automotive repair shops, one independently owned used motor vehicle sales business, one motor vehicle dealership and one pawn shop, as well as three tattoo and body establishments. The city does not have any buy-here-pay-here motor vehicle sales businesses or payday loan services. In addition to these two, the city has four others on marijuana dispensaries and vape shops, which are in place until next March, and small solar facilities and data centers, which is place until next February. Council has not passed any other moratoriums, which can be used as placeholders as officials work through a new comprehensive plan for the city. The last comprehensive plan for the city was created in 2012, and the new plan will be a blueprint for the next 15 to 20 years, Hall said previously.
