Golden Nail Lounge celebrates Conway opening

CONWAY, S.C. — More than 100 people gathered Thursday morning, Sept. 3 as Golden Nail Lounge celebrated its opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by visitors, local residents and quite a few Conway Chamber of Commerce members. Guests began lining up outside more than 30 minutes before the 9:30 a.m. event. The celebration featured balloons, decorations, a red carpet, traditional music and a performance, with DJ King P providing music. Kellie Jackson, a Conway Chamber ambassador who assisted with the ribbon-cutting, said the excitement was noticeable as soon as she arrived. “The moment I arrived, people were lined down the sidewalk,” Jackson said. “Decorations were up and there was even a red carpet. Everyone here is ready to enjoy all of the services provided by this business and their incredible team.” Conway resident Amy Ball said she discovered the salon after seeing its sign posted outside of the store front and later looking them up on Facebook. “I had no idea how popular this place would be,” Ball said. Ball said she did not mind waiting in line and planned to take advantage of the opening special. “I honestly do not mind because I am retired and I have all of the time in the world,” she said. “I am planning on getting the work done, I want my toes and fingernails done today, and this is the day to do it with the 50% off coupon.” Tina Newbold said she was excited to have a nail salon closer to her home after previously traveling to North Myrtle Beach for services. “I really need a good nail salon closer to my home,” Newbold said. “I cannot wait to give this place a try. If they are good, I will definitely start coming here.” Guests were treated to drinks, cookies, fruit, vegetables and small gift bags. Community members also had an opportunity to sign up for memberships. Owner Kim Nguyen welcomed guests and celebrated the salon’s arrival in Conway. Golden Nail Garden is located at 1610 Church St. in Conway.
