Антони Вонг присоединился к актерскому составу австралийского фильма «Кеннеди»

Anthony Brandon Wong is set to join Lauren Hamilton Neill, Tony Bonner and Matt Oxley in the cast of Darren K Hawkins’ Kennedy. Written by Hawkins and Hamilton Neill, Kennedy focuses on the true story of Michael and Bridget Kennedy, Irish immigrants trying to make a new life in a new land. After Michael, a police sergeant, is slain by the Kelly Gang at Stringybark Creek in 1878, his wife embarks quest for personal justice. Wong will play Liu Dihuan, a journalist whose pursuit of the truth behind the Kelly Gang’s victims drives one of the film’s central investigations. He will also serve as the drama coach for the production. “After I read the script, I couldn’t resist being part of this deeply moving, important and necessary retelling of Australian history, beautifully written, with real-life lead characters and a love story that will delight and move audiences and bring to light the human cost to those who were slain by the Kelly gang, and the families who loved and grieved the fallen,” said Wong. Hawkins said he was a long-time admirer of Wong’s work, which includes The Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revolutions and The Family Law, as well as work as an acting coach with clients such as Magda Szubanski, Delta Goodrem, Natalie Mendoza, James Stewart, Angus McLaren, Stef Dawson and Shareena Clanton. “As Liu, he brings the truth and depth this story needs to guide audiences through a new lens on the Kelly story. Having him join the team as drama coach as well is just as exciting: it’s a privilege to have his experience shaping the whole cast. I can’t wait to begin this collaboration,” said Hawkins. From Lonely Hills Films, Kennedy is produced by Darren K. Hawkins, Thea McLeod and Kieren Devisser. Executive producers include Les Morris and Devisser. McLeod also serves as casting director, while Casimir Dickson is cinematographer. Screen Inc. is on board as ANZ distributor. Hawkins, Hamilton Neill and Devisser have been in active development on the project since 2024, with casting currently underway. The hope is to shoot the film next year for release in October 2028, which marks the 150th anniversary of the Stringybark Creek massacre.
