The publication defined small towns as communities with a population of 25,000 or fewer and highlighted each town’s unique reasons to visit. The list showcases Angola’s proximity to numerous lakes such as Crooked Lake, Lake James, and Pokagon State Park’s waters, making the city “a destination for kayaking and fishing.” The publication also highlights the antique shops along the historic Maumee Street as well as dining options and sports and entertainment offerings through Trine University. Other Midwest communities on the list include Galena, Illinois; Frankenmuth, Michigan; Yellow Springs, Ohio; Viroqua, Wisconsin; Ely, Minnesota; and Kimmswick, Missouri.
