Air North расширяет авиасообщение с Йеллоунайфом: новые рейсы в Эдмонтон, Ванкувер и Торонто

Air North announces additional flights to and from Yellowknife Service expansion includes year-round flights to Edmonton and Whitehorse Yellowknife residents will soon have more flight paths to choose from after Air North announced it's expanding its service to and from the city. The Yukon-based airline announced Wednesday it will be offering year-round flights between Yellowknife and Whitehorse, as well as Yellowknife and Edmonton beginning in December 2026. “We've been getting requests from sports organizations to offer flights to Edmonton for weekend travel to support, you know, large groups going to events,” said Ben Ryan, Air North’s chief commercial officer. Ryan added that flights between Whitehorse and Yellowknife will help accommodate the growing demand for business travel between the two northern cities. The expansion comes as the federal government continues to show interest in northern economic development. The premiers of Canada’s three territories signed a memorandum of understanding last year to create an eventual territorial trade zone. “Seeing both the federal government interest in the Arctic, the new investments announced … and then seeing an MOU between the territories, it creates a sense of momentum and confidence,” Ryan said. Air North also announced it will be bringing back its flight service between Yellowknife and Vancouver later this month. That's something the airline offered earlier this year. And it will be offering seasonal flights from Yellowknife to Victoria and Kelowna with a connection at the Vancouver airport. These flights will be available this winter between December and March to accommodate the aurora tourism season in the N.W.T. Ryan says there is increasing interest among northerners in flying south to Victoria and Kelowna. “We think that the expansion of Victoria and Kelowna is really going to appeal to families, to young people, students, sports groups, couples, things like that,” he said. “But also there's the possibility for business travel into the territory during the week.” The airline also added flights between Yellowknife and Toronto, with up to three flights a week between June and October 2026 and additional flights this winter from Dec. 15 to Jan 6 and Feb. 16 to March 24.
