AerCap Holdings получила сотый Boeing 787 из своего заказа и укрепляет лидерство на рынке аренды

AerCap Holdings N.V. (NYSE:AER) recently achieved a significant milestone with its 100th Boeing 787 delivery from its direct orderbook with Boeing, which happened to be the 25th Dreamliner for Aeroméxico. The company delivered its 10th Boeing 787 to Grupo Aeroméxico through a lease agreement. The delivery will play an important part in the expansion of Aeroméxico’s long-haul network and its broader fleet strategy. When it comes to passenger comfort, performance, and operating economics, 787 is one of the most attractive widebody aircraft, that will help the airline grow, and make its fleet more efficient and sustainable. Bull Case: 787 Orderbook Scale and Fleet Execution AerCap’s scale within the Boeing 787 program make it a segment leader and could support strong pricing power while aircraft supply remains constrained. Among all lessors, AerCap holds the largest 787 order book, with roughly 140 aircraft either owned or on order. The recent milestone strengthens AerCap’s strategic positioning across the widebody leasing market, at a time when aircraft supply remains limited. That position gives pricing power and negotiating advantages with airline customers. AerCap’s second-quarter results reflected strong operational execution,  supported by continued demand for aviation assets and constrained aircraft supply. After carrying out 488 asset transactions during the first half of 2026, the company portfolio by June-end consisted of 3,567 aircraft, helicopters and engines which it either owned, had on order, or managed. Amongst these, AerCap owned 1,461, of which 1,404 were leased out while the remaining 57 were marketed, sold or re-leased. The company has also made commitments to buy 379 additional aircraft by 2034, which includes 15 Boeing 787s that were added to the pipeline back in July. The average age of the owned fleet was 7.4 years, while utilization stood between 97% and 98%. Bear Case: Capital Commitments, Demand-Cycle Uncertainties, and Concentration Risk AerCap’s significant reliance on Boeing 787 program leads to concentration risk, with a large chunk of its widebody strategy revolving around a single manufacturer relationship and a single aircraft type. Any disruption to Boeing’s quality control issues, production schedule, or delays in delivery could have a direct impact on AerCap’s fleet deployment strategy and revenues. The company’s commitment to buy 379 new aircraft by 2034 will require large amount of forward capital obligation. This exposes the company to risks associated with interest rate movements and financing. It also results in demand uncertainty over a long delivery horizon. Certain macro headwinds could also temper the bull case. These include global economic slowdown, lower air travel demand, or financial constraints for lessees. These factors could put lease rates and residual values across the widebody segment under stress. Encouraging Sell-Side and Institutional Sentiment As of close of play on September 3, consensus sentiment for AerCap Holdings N.V. was strongly bullish. The stock carries an average 1-year target price of $177.89 and around 22.5% upside potential. It received Buy ratings from 9 of the 10 analysts who covered the stock, along with 1 Hold call. Based on institutional data tracked across 1,000+ hedge funds by Insider Monkey, smart-money managers raised their long-term exposure in the stock during the second quarter. According to 13F filings, a total of 61 hedge funds held positions by the end of Q2 2026, increasing from 56 in Q1 2026. Short interest of 1.71% indicates negligible amount of active bets against the stock. As per Yahoo Finance database, BlackRock is the largest institutional investor owning 8.24% of the total outstanding shares. The Asset Manager holds 13.75 million shares of AerCap, valued at more than $1.99 billion. Other major institutional stakeholders include Harris Associates and State Street Corporation, that own 3.87% and 3.21% of outstanding shares, respectively. Conclusion AerCap’s Boeing 787 order book allows it to solidify its long term relationships with industry leaders such as Boeing, as well as major carriers such as Aeroméxico. It facilitates recurring lease revenue, while favorably reflecting upon AerCap’s long-term manufacturer partnerships. Moreover, the company anticipates future fleet deployment prospects within its global customer base.
