ABG renames Girona unit and assigns flexible packaging development role

A B Graphic International (ABG) has renamed Enprom Solutions as ABG Girona, as part of the continued integration of its Spain-based operation into the wider group. The move follows the 2019 acquisition of the business by ABG and Kocher+Beck and affirms the site as the group's centre of excellence for flexible packaging. Based in Girona, the operation designs and builds machinery, converting systems, sleeve products and automated production lines for the flexible packaging and label sectors. Within the ABG group, the Girona business is set to take on a larger role in flexible packaging work, including the FlexPack range. The name change is intended to clarify the Girona operation's position within the group for customers while retaining the technical knowledge developed by the existing team. The legal entity name will be ABG International Solutions Girona, subject to final administrative approval. The Girona unit will continue its work with Kocher+Beck in Germany on specialist projects and the development of new technologies. ABG group CEO Simon Nadin said: "With Girona's considerable engineering knowledge and expertise, particularly in flexible packaging, the transition from Enprom Solutions to ABG Girona is a natural progression. "Establishing the site as our Centre of Excellence for Flexible Packaging brings that specialist capability together with ABG's global resources, providing a strong platform for the continued development of FlexPack and our wider flexible packaging offering. "This is much more than a name change; it demonstrates our commitment to Girona, to continued investment and innovation, and to expanding our presence in the global flexible packaging market." "ABG renames Girona unit and assigns flexible packaging development role" was originally created and published by Packaging Gateway, a GlobalData owned brand.
