Peter confessed he would prefer to remove himself from situations rather than risk offending his wife by requesting she give him some alone time. He said: "I'd get a full volley off you if I said, 'Could you just go out for a bit? I need to decompress.'" Abbey, who hails from Liverpool, then recalled something her husband had once said during their early courtship, reports the Liverpool Echo. She said: "No, you just tell me to be quiet. You remember you did that once when we first got together? You said that to me once when we first got together and I cried. You said to me, 'Can you just please stop talking?' And I was like, 'Oh my god, stop talking?'" Peter seemed to attribute the remark to excessive drinking, confessing: "I must have been hung over. I said, "Please, I can't. I just so I can't do this anymore. "There's so much talking. I can't. But please, just for a little bit." Abbey revealed why the comment had wounded her so deeply, explaining to Peter: "If someone says that to you, it's so hurtful." Peter challenged whether the remark was truly as painful as Abbey recalled, suggesting that everyone occasionally requires some tranquillity. He said: "Do you reckon? I don't know. I just think sometimes you do need peace and quiet. I think it's probably better just to take yourself away. I think that's why lots of men have sheds to to mend stuff. Man cave." The chat arose as the pair reflected on a recent getaway which Abbey had hoped would offer them some quality romantic time together. Instead, much of their break involved journeying to Harrogate for an epic shopping expedition to a tile showroom. Peter remembered: "We're four-and-a-half hours in a car to Harrogate, to go to this tile shop, Lapicida. Am I saying that right? I thought it was a defensive midfielder, but yeah, we went there. Four hours there, six hours in the shop." Abbey captured the experience with: "Decisions, decisions, decisions." Despite the marathon browsing session, the duo stayed at the lavish Grantley Hall, which Abbey described as "phenomenal". Their romantic evening, however, transformed into a night of cocktails, room-service pizza and dining in bed. Abbey said: "Well, it was mucky because there was pizza all over the bed. We got so p****d and then got a pizza room service and sat in bed and ate it, so yeah, you could call it dirty." But the next morning brought fresh disappointment for Abbey when Peter departed early to attend a suit fitting. She said: "I was so upset that you left early the next morning. He got the train home because he had to go to the suit fitting, and so I had a breakfast for one before I went to the molding factory."
