Группа Swilly Sisters провела насыщенный день: круизы, экскурсия на ферму альпак и мастер-классы

The Swilly Sisters Shed group took to the Swilly for an evening of good fun, chat and stunning views. Their ‘Up the Swilly’ cruise was part of a busy week of activities for the Rathmullan group who have so much more planned in the weeks ahead. A glorious day was had by all on their outing to Downings last Thursday, travelling on the community bus supported by SICAP. The visit to the Alpaca Farm proved a wonderful experience — meeting the newborns, learning all about their upbringing, and discovering how their wool is harvested and then used. A welcome lunch break at The Galley offered time to relax and chat, followed by a fascinating tour of the iconic McNutt’s Tweed Factory. Sincere thanks to MD William McNutt for the personal welcome and in‑house tour. The fun continued on Sunday evening, when more Swilly Sisters enjoyed a beautiful cruise ‘Up the Swilly’ with Rathmullan Charters. Great chats, stunning views, and plenty of laughter filled the evening, and we even managed to dodge the showers. A memorable way to appreciate our own spectacular Lough Swilly. The Swilly Sisters are most grateful for the council support under the Members Development Fund which helps make experiences like these possible for group members. This coming Saturday, September 5, Erin U’Chearbhaill from Erin’s Green Bunbeag will host a Garden Composting Workshop at The Pier Sheds, starting at 10am. She will provide practical guidance on the do’s and don’ts of making good garden compost. Refreshments will be served, and all are welcome. Fully funded under the Dirt to Dish Series, through Donegal College (formerly ETB). Swilly Sisters are excited to welcome members back to inhouse meetings on Monday night, September 7 at 7pm in SVP Rathmullan, for a Games Night with a Twist. The committee has been busy preparing the autumn schedule for regular fortnightly meetings thereafter. Carpentry classes in association with CDP are starting on September 15 while the Chair Yoga with Jane Watt, supported by Age & Opportunity starts on September 17 in SVP. Both classes fully subscribed. Scrabble Club resumes on September 9 and the Book Club resumes on September 28.
