В Берлингтоне запущен масштабный проект по оцифровке истории четырех крупнейших иммигрантских сообществ

802 News: Mapping Burlington’s early immigrant communities BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - A massive project is underway in Burlington to document four of the largest immigrant communities in the city, tracing their history from 1850 to 1950. The project started by mapping Burlington’s historic Jewish community in the city’s Old North End, and has now been expanded to include the French-Canadian, Irish, and Italian communities. Researchers are identifying residences, businesses, religious institutions, and fraternal and social organizations. In the end, people will be able to view the interactive presentation online and see each address and neighborhood as it progressed through the decades. In this week’s edition of 802 News, Mark Johnson spoke with project organizers Aaron Goldberg and Bob Duncan. It’s a remarkable story and particularly relevant today. Copyright 2026 WCAX.
