As it took off as a strawberry farm, the family said it grew into a legacy that continues today. “Her greatest legacy is not just the farm, but the family and memories she leaves behind,” the family said on Facebook. “Many will remember her even this past spring at 93 years old sitting at the stand and riding a golf cart through the field. She took great joy in seeing customers year after year. Every strawberry season, every familiar face, and every generation that walks through the farm will carry a little piece of Emma with them.” Keep up with the latest news and weather by downloading the WXII app here. The strawberry farm spent this past Mother’s Day celebrating 59 years as a women-owned business with her daughters, Christy Mabe Rogers and Tina Mabe Tamer, who continue to run Mabe’s Berry Farm. The family said a funeral service will take place Friday afternoon at Palmyra Methodist Church in Germanton. NAVIGATE: Home | Weather | Watch NOWCAST TV | Local News | National | News We Love |
