Evangelist Will Graham to bring outdoor prayer event to Savannah’s Forsyth Park Above video: Your Tuesday headlines Evangelist Will Graham will bring the “Declaration of Dependence Tour” to Savannah this fall for an outdoor gathering focused on prayer, music and a Christian message of hope. The free event is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 30 near the bandshell in Forsyth Park. No ticket is required, and the event is expected to last 45 minutes to an hour. Savannah is one of 13 stops on the tour, which will visit each of the original U.S. Colonies. According to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, the gatherings will include prayer for the nation, a message from Graham and live music by Josh Havens. Graham is the grandson of evangelist Billy Graham and the son of Franklin Graham. He serves as executive vice president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, the organization his grandfather founded in 1950. He began his evangelistic ministry in 2006 and has spoken to more than 1 million people across six continents, according to the association. The organization describes the tour as an outreach and prayer gathering centered on dependence on Jesus Christ. Events are open to everyone. Those planning to attend the Savannah stop should bring chairs or blankets because seating will not be provided. Food and drinks will not be sold at the park, so guests are encouraged to bring their own. A list of prohibited items is available through the event website. Spanish interpretation will be offered. Attendees who want to use the service will need a smartphone and headphones. Parking information for the Savannah event has not yet been announced. Organizers recommend carpooling or using public transportation when possible. The association is also recruiting volunteers for local event teams and inviting churches to participate in the tour. Additional details are expected to be posted as the event approaches.
