Основатель крупнейшего европейского табачного ритейлера Митчелл Орчант переходит на роль посла

Five years ago, two of Europe’s largest retailers merged to create Dominique London, which combined the La Casa Del Tabaco Group and C.Gars Ltd. Today, the company has announced that Mitchell Orchant, founder of C.Gars Ltd, is transitioning to a new role of ambassador, ending his active role in the business. Prior to Dominique London, Orchant built his C.Gars Ltd into the largest cigar specialty retailer in the United Kingdom, with around a dozen storefronts, an online business, distribution services, and semi-annual vintage cigar auctions. Along the way, he also added his own brand, Inka, and entered the whisky business. When the merger was announced, it was clear that the La Casa Del Tabaco was the controlling side, though Orchant was listed as the largest shareholder after Dominique Gyselinck and Frédéric Dechamps. The company says that he is no longer a shareholder or employee, though he will serve in an ambassador role. “It’s been a great honour steering the business from humble beginnings to the great heights we have now reached,” said Orchant in a press release. “I’m delighted to become an ambassador. All good wishes to Dominique, Frederic and the team for continued success.” Today, Dominique London operates more than 30 stores in seven different countries. “Mitchell has been part of this business from the very first conversation about the merger,” said Dechamps, ceo of Dominique London. “On behalf of the board, I want to thank him for everything he has given the group over the past five years. I am glad this is not a goodbye – as an Ambassador he will remain a familiar face across the trade.”
