Школы округа Пасадена получили высшие награды штата за создание безопасной среды обучения

Four Pasadena Unified School District schools got some good news this week, just as the school year has gotten going. The district reported that the schools have earned state recognition for their work in creating positive school environments and for the behavioral and social-emotional support students need to succeed. District officials touted the honors, saying they place the distict among California’s top campuses for implementing systems that improve student outcomes. Madison Elementary, John Muir Early College Magnet High School, and Rose City High School received Platinum-level honors, and Pasadena High School earned Gold-level recognition from the California PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) Coalition for creating supportive, inclusive, and positive learning environments. “These awards honor the model work happening in our schools to support students’ social-emotional wellness, and recognize the educators, intervention teachers, MTSS coaches, administrators, and staff who make that work possible every day,” said Superintendent Elizabeth Blanco in a statement announcing the honors. “In PUSD, we believe that children learn better when they feel safe, supported, and connected. That commitment has guided our work for more than a decade and shaped how we cared for students and families after the Eaton Fire.” Officials said that a districtwide focus on Behavior Response to Intervention (RTI), offers a proactive, comprehensive, and data-driven system, that identifies students early, with increasing tiers of support to promote positive behavior. The districtwide framework includes lessons on life skills and evidence-based interventions that encourage students to stay engaged in learning. The four PUSD schools will be recognized during the annual California PBIS Conference in October.
