В Флориде отмечают День благодарности линейным работникам за обеспечение надежного электроснабжения

Contributed August 26 marks Florida Lineworker Appreciation Day. In rain, heat and other unique conditions, about 1,000 Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) lineworkers help power the everyday lives of families and businesses throughout the Sunshine State. In 2012, the Florida House of Representatives established Aug. 26 as the annual date to honor the men and women who safely navigate hazardous conditions to ensure reliable electricity for Floridians. Throughout the year, FPL lineworkers support: - Electric grid upgrades, installing or replacing equipment to continue delivering reliable electricity. - Responding for customers, restoring power safely and as quickly as possible when outages do occur. - Storm preparedness, serving on the frontlines in the aftermath of hurricanes and severe weather to get the communities they serve back on their feet. - Community involvement, joining community Touch-a-Truck expos and visiting local schools to showcase their work to students throughout the state. FPL matched its best reliability performance on record in 2025 and achieved the lowest outage frequency in company history, according to its Annual Distribution Reliability Report filed with the Florida Public Service Commission. With reliability that’s more than 60% better than the national average, FPL’s skilled lineworkers help achieve this level of service, tending to both above and below-ground electric systems. A word from Michael Jarro, FPL vice president of power delivery: “Our lineworkers provide reliable electricity to millions of Floridians in one of the fastest-growing states in the country, requiring great expertise and always a focus on safety. What our lineworkers do every day is inspiring – these men and women live in the communities they serve and take pride in delivering an essential service we all need and expect. We’re grateful for the professionalism of our lineworkers today and appreciate them for the work they do throughout the year for our customers.”
