Фил Корбитт и Сара Белчер исполнят главную роль в новой пьесе «All at Sea» в театре Стивена Джозефа

Phil Corbitt and Sarah Belcher lead new Alison Carr play at Scarborough’s Stephen Joseph Theatre The cast has been announced for All at Sea, a new play by Alison Carr which will premiere at Newcastle’s Live Theatre before transferring to Scarborough’s Stephen Joseph Theatre this autumn. Phil Corbitt and Sarah Belcher will star as Colin and Deborah, a couple whose financial troubles lead them to contemplate an extraordinary plan. The production will be directed by Maria Crocker. Drawing inspiration from the notorious real-life ‘canoe man’ story, All at Sea follows Colin and Deborah as their spiralling debts, huge mortgage and mounting financial pressures leave them seemingly with nowhere to turn. Colin comes up with a desperate solution – to fake his own death in a canoeing accident in the North Sea in the hope of securing a life insurance payout. The play premieres at Live Theatre Newcastle from 24 September to 10 October, before transferring to the Stephen Joseph Theatre from 16 to 31 October. Carr’s previous plays Caterpillar and The Last Quiz Night on Earth have both been staged at the Stephen Joseph Theatre. Director Maria Crocker said she was “so excited” to welcome Corbitt and Belcher to the production. “This sharp and witty play requires two expert actors to bring this extraordinary couple to life, and this casting has delivered just that,” she said. All at Sea is presented by Live Theatre and Stephen Joseph Theatre in association with Laurels, with support from Newcastle-based architects SPACE. The production runs at Live Theatre Newcastle from 24 September to 10 October, followed by the Stephen Joseph Theatre from 16 to 31 October. Tickets for the Stephen Joseph Theatre are available from the box office on 01723 370541 or via the Stephen Joseph Theatre website.
