Основательница благотворительного фонда The Craven Trust ушла в отставку после 31 лет службы

A FOUNDING member of The Craven Trust has retired after 31 years of service. Caroline Schwaller, who helped launch the charity in 1995 and served as a trustee until her retirement, played a central role in shaping its mission of "local money for local needs" and supported communities across Craven. During her three decades with the organisation, Ms Schwaller also served as chair for many years. She said: "From planning to launch the Craven Trust after a chance meeting in Bradford, I have never ceased to feel proud of what it has achieved, and grateful for the experience. "The people who came and went, the trustees who give their time with such generosity and compassion, the donors who made it possible for communities to thrive, and the often sobering experience of giving grants to people with troubled lives...all of it enriching and memorable for us all. "And of course, the grant making still goes on, undaunted, dedicated, and effective. "'Small but perfectly formed,' I always said, and may the Trust continue to evolve and give for many years to come." The Craven Trust supports community groups and organisations across the local area and, through its work with the Beamsley Trust, enables grants to be made to individuals facing hardship or difficult circumstances. Ms Schwaller’s contributions have helped the Trust grow while staying true to its "local, personal approach." Her understanding of the local voluntary sector and the needs of the community has been invaluable. Robert Templar, who has taken over as chair, paid tribute to her legacy. Mr Templar said: "I’m proud to be taking on the role of Chair, and I hope to continue the ethos and values that Caroline brought to the Trust over so many years. She leaves us with strong foundations, and I’m looking forward to building on her work for the benefit of our local communities." The Trustees of The Craven Trust are hugely grateful to Caroline for her commitment, energy, knowledge and wisdom over the past 31 years, and wished her the very best for the future. They said her contribution has helped shape the Trust into the organisation it is today. As Ms Schwaller steps down, The Craven Trust remains committed to its founding vision of using local resources to make a difference to local people. The Trust continues to look to the future while remaining true to the vision on which it was founded three decades ago.
