Клиника остеопатов в Илкли празднует 25-летие работы и приема более 15 тысяч пациентов

A WELL-established Ilkley healthcare practice is celebrating 25 years of helping local people stay active, healthy and pain-free. The Ilkley Osteopathic Practice, based in the town since 2001, was founded by Amos and Robbie Grech-Cini, who were joined by their close friend and fellow osteopath Louise Judd. A quarter of a century later, the trio are still working together and continue to put patients at the heart of everything they do. Since opening its doors, the practice has built up a patient list of more than 15,000 people from across Wharfedale and beyond, treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions including back pain, neck pain, sports injuries, joint problems and pregnancy-related discomfort. Amos, Robbie and Louise established the practice with the aim of creating a centre of professional excellence where patient care always came first. "Everybody says you shouldn't go into business with your family or your friends, but 25 years on we're still proving that it was the best thing we ever did," they said. Osteopathy is a recognised form of manual medicine focused on diagnosing and treating problems within the musculoskeletal system. Practitioners use techniques including physical manipulation, stretching and massage to improve joint mobility, relieve muscle tension and support the body's natural healing processes. Osteopaths are regulated healthcare professionals registered with the General Osteopathic Council. The practice has also inspired a new generation of osteopaths. Among those joining the profession is Sophie, daughter of Amos and Robbie, who is due to join the practice next year. The team has recently welcomed associate osteopath Archie Medway, a familiar face in the Ilkley rugby community. A former patient of the practice, his interest in osteopathy was shaped through sport, strength training and nutrition. Another member of the team, Guy Harnby, brought a wealth of life experience to the profession after a distinguished military career. Formerly responsible for the care of sick and wounded soldiers, he served around the world with the British Army and United Nations, including a memorable posting as Chief of Staff of British Gurkhas Nepal in Kathmandu. To mark the anniversary, the practice is hosting an open day on Saturday, September 19, from 2pm to 5pm. Visitors can attend a question-and-answer session with Amos, hear Robbie discuss osteopathic treatment for babies, and learn from Louise about women's pelvic health and the Mummy MOT. Guy and Archie will also be offering mini consultations for anyone interested in finding out how osteopathy could help them. For more information visit www.ilkleyosteopaths.co.uk.
