Клуб укулеле из Уорикстера собрал более 10 тысяч фунтов стерлингов на борьбу с раком простаты

The Worcester Ukulele Club has raised more than £10,000 this year. The funds were collected through performances and community events, with the most recent boost coming from the Worcester Festival. Dressed in red, members, affectionately known as 'Wuccies,' raised £768.13 over five one-hour sessions at the festival. All funds raised this year will go to the club's chosen charity for this year, Worcestershire Prostate Cancer Support Group. The club thanked 'the wonderful people of Worcester' for their generosity which brought the total they have raised so far this year to £10, 125. They also thanked Chris Jaeger and the festival organising team for inviting them to take part. The club is now inviting anyone who saw them play and fancies trying their hand at the ukulele to join a taster session. An 'absolute beginners’ workshop will be held on Sunday, October 4, at the Cotswold Room at Worcester University, St John’s Campus from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Attendees will learn the basics of the instrument from how it is made to tuning to playing a few songs using a couple of easy chords. No prior musical experience is necessary, and ukuleles will be available to borrow on the day. The session is open to adults aged 18 and over and costs £10 per person, payable on arrival. Those interested are encouraged to sign up in advance by emailing [email protected].
