A LOGISTICS recruitment firm has recorded its highest-ever weekly turnover. Driver Hire, based in Bradford and part of the SPS Group, topped £3 million in the UK and A$1 million in Australia in the same week, marking a double trading milestone. The company supplies temporary and permanent drivers, as well as other logistics staff, across both public and private sectors. Chris Chidley, chief executive of Driver Hire, said: "Reaching £3m turnover in a single week in the UK is a landmark achievement for Driver Hire. "To see our Australian business record its first-ever $1m week in the same trading week makes this a particularly proud moment for the group. "These milestones reflect an enormous team effort across both countries: the commitment of our colleagues, the loyalty of our customers and the hard work of thousands of temporary workers who represent Driver Hire every day." Driver Hire is on track to exceed £165 million in annual network turnover this year, reflecting sustained growth across its UK and Australian operations. The weekly figures represent record performances across its network of more than 100 offices in the UK and 12 in Australia. Mr Chidley said: "While we are proud of our 40-plus year history, we are focused on the future. "Continued investment in online recruitment tools, technology and innovation is helping our offices connect more effectively with customers and candidates, ensuring Driver Hire continues to evolve with the needs of employers and jobseekers. "These results give us confidence that there is still significant potential for further growth in both markets, supported by improved productivity and our ability to help customers navigate ever-changing compliance obligations." Driver Hire Australia operates as a sister company to the UK business, offering similar recruitment services across the transport and logistics sector. The company’s recent achievements follow a series of strong trading weeks that have consistently outperformed the general recruitment market in both regions.
