Cumbria-based car dealership group Pye Motors has added three new showrooms and transformed another as part of a major company expansion across the county and further North West. The business has confirmed the launch of a Geely branch on Mint Bridge Industrial Estate in Kendal - with a newly renovated building offering a range of Volvo, Polestar, and Lotus vehicles. Pye Motors is also converting its existing Kendal showroom into an Omoda and Jaecoo dealership - a move which will help meet demand for brands that have grown in the UK market over the past two years. Two additional showrooms have been acquired on White Lund Industrial Estate in Morecambe - with the firm purchasing back land it previously owned until 1995. These new buildings will house the group’s second Chery dealership. Nick Payne, managing director of Pye Motors and grandson of founder William Pye, said: "I am thrilled to announce some significant and exciting additions to the Pye Motors group as we celebrate our 101st year in business. "We are actively expanding both our footprint and our franchise partners. "This unprecedented period of diversification and opportunity is something our entire team has grasped with both hands, and I am incredibly proud of what we are building together." The changes have resulted in Pye Motors diversifying its portfolio - which now comprises sites in Barrow, Morecambe and Kendal. These include the new Geely location, as well as two Omoda & Jaecoo, two Chery, and one Lepas showroom. Mr Payne stated: "Adding these high-quality brands to our group and our local area has been an absolute privilege. "My team and I are genuinely excited to bring all of these new buildings and brands into reality." Pye Motors was launched in 1925 when William Pye, having trained as an engineer in the Barrow shipyards, decided to set up on his own venture – using engineering knowledge to start a motor repair business. Joined by his younger brother, George, William established the first Pye Motors workshop on Fleet Square in Lancaster. Over 100 years later Pye remains a family run business.
