Сотрудники супермаркета Asda в Глазго лично доставили продукты пожилой клиентке, когда курьер не смог выполнить заказ

Two Glasgow supermarket workers have been praised for going above and beyond to help a customer in need. Katey McSherry and Chloe Forbes, who work at Asda in Robroyston, stepped in to help a vulnerable home delivery customer after a driver was unable to complete a drop-off. Katey McSherry, online manager at Asda Robroyston, said: "The customer called the store to let us know her shopping hadn’t arrived. "When my colleague Chloe checked it out, we realised the lady had been with her carers at the time he arrived, and for the 15 minutes or so he waited at her address." Once they realised the customer had limited food at home and no way to collect essentials herself, Forbes suggested they deliver the groceries personally. The customer initially declined, saying she would manage until a delivery could be arranged for the following day. McSherry said: "But once we realised her situation, there was no way we’d have been happy to leave it at that. "I finished at 6pm, packed up the groceries and delivered them myself on the way home. "The lady was so lovely, and she gave me a big cuddle when I arrived. "I was more than happy to do it, and Chloe did a fantastic job in getting all the information so we could make the right decision." McSherry said: "She was absolutely lovely again, and just laughed, saying, 'I can’t believe you’ve come all the way back over some potato salad.'" The customer later wrote to Asda to express her gratitude, calling for the colleagues to be formally recognised for their kindness and empathy. Emma Hawthorne, community and customer champion at Asda Robroyston, said: "We’re really proud of Katey and Chloe for the supportive steps they took to help this customer. "As a community store, we really care about our customers and this is a great example of how our colleagues will go the extra mile."
