Бывший руководитель BBC Cymru Wales проведет беседу с известной валлийской развлекательницей Кароль Парри Джонс

Former BBC Cymru Wales controller Menna Richards will be in conversation with one of Wales’s best-known entertainers, Caryl Parry Jones, at Canolfan Bethlehem in Newport on Sunday, September 13. The bilingual afternoon event, titled Mewn Sgwrs Gydâ, will celebrate Parry Jones’s long and varied contribution to Welsh cultural life. A singer, songwriter, actor, comedian, television and radio presenter, she has been a familiar face and voice in Wales for decades. Richards, an experienced broadcaster and former head of BBC Cymru Wales, will explore the stories, people and experiences that have shaped Parry Jones’s life and career. The discussion is expected to cover her work across popular music, comedy, broadcasting and performance, including the memorable characters and songs that have secured her a place in Welsh popular culture. The event will be held mainly in Welsh, with a translation service available for non-Welsh speakers. Tea and bara brith are included, adding a relaxed community feel to the afternoon. It begins at 3pm and admission is £12. The venue is Canolfan Bethlehem, Upper Trefethin Street, Newport, Pembrokeshire, SA42 0TH. The event is presented under the Poems. Nourished. Singing. banner.
