Шотландский депутат извинился за фейковое фото с памятником Долли Партон, сгенерированное искусственным интеллектом

An MSP has apologised after saying he was "tricked" into sharing an AI-generated image of people gathering at a roundabout in North Lanarkshire to pay tribute to Dolly Parton. News of Parton’s death was announced by her family on Tuesday night, and her publicist, Marcel Pariseau, said: “After bravely facing a brief battle with cancer, Dolly departed her earthly life today at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Centre surrounded by loved ones.” The singer, 80, was best known for her genre-defining hits including 9 To 5, I Will Always Love You and Jolene. The biggest names in music, including: Sir Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Mick Jagger, Taylor Swift and Beyonce; have all detailed her impact and her legacy, as both a musician and a humanitarian. Joining them in paying tribute was Fulton MacGregor, SNP MSP for Coatbridge and Chryston, via a post on Facebook on Tuesday morning, which purportedly showed locals gathering at the famous 'Dolly Parton' Roundabout at the junction of the A80 and A806 in Stepps. The MSP wrote: "Very sad to hear the news about Dolly Parton tonight. My thoughts with all her family and loved ones "As folk locally will know there’s a famous junction in Stepps within my constituency fondly and affectionately called the ‘Dolly Parton’ roundabout. "These were the scenes at it earlier tonight and I’m sure the tributes will continue to grow. "Of course Dolly Parton leaves a massive legacy in music but also in Scotland and other places by inspiring children to read through the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library." Some of the MSPs constituents then pointed out to Mr MacGregor that the image he had used to accompany his tribute was in fact AI-generated. One person wrote: "Just a respectful note that the image being shared here is AI-generated rather than a genuine photograph. Just so there’s no confusion for those seeing and sharing it." Another person wrote: "I'm sure Dolly's family are taking great comfort in knowing that the MSP for Coatbridge is paying AI-generated tribute to her." In a fresh post on Facebook on Wednesday morning, Mr MacGregor to admit that he was "tricked by the AI". The post read: "Delighted to pop into Stepps Library today and chat to Sarah Jane there about the work they are doing within the local community and with the school encouraging children to read. "Last night I put a post on following the sad news about Dolly Parton. Unfortunately the image was AI generated and depicted people leaving tributes at the roundabout in Stepps. "Sometimes you’ve just got to put your hands up and so I’ll admit that I was tricked by the AI. I was sent the image and I shared it in good faith. I think folk have acknowledged this as the post has been so well engaged with demonstrating the huge public respect for Dolly Parton. "Regardless I don’t think that a busy roundabout and this junction is the best place for any memorial and that’s why I decided to visit Stepps Library this morning." Mr MacGregor has asked MSPs to “applaud” the late SNP councillor Dr Imtiaz Majid in a motion at the Scottish Parliament. The MSP said Dr Majid, who was a North Lanarkshire councillor for five years, had contributed “to civic life in Scotland and as a community leader”. However Dr Majid was denounced in a court judgment in 2016 which said he had lied and fabricated evidence in an attempt to cheat his wife out of a fair divorce settlement.
