Благотворительная организация CVS Brent закроется после 15 лет поддержки местных сообществ

A long-standing charity is stepping down after 15 years of supporting organisations and community groups across the borough. CVS Brent, which has championed the voluntary sector since 2011, will close in October to make way for a new, modernised support programme set to launch in January 2027. The charity has supported more than 720 non-governmental organisations by helping them secure funding, improve governance and deliver services across Brent. We’ve successfully stabilised the organisation, returned to a surplus, and rebuilt stakeholder confidence. "Paving the way for a newly modernised entity is the most responsible step for the future. We leave knowing the groundwork is securely laid for Brent's diverse communities to thrive." Following a major strategic review, CVS Brent’s trustees made the decision to step aside and allow a new representative body to take over. The charity departs in a strong position, with a financial surplus and renewed stakeholder trust. A celebration event held on July 30 brought together local heroes and partners to mark CVS Brent’s achievements and lasting impact. Cllr Muhammed (Mo) Butt, leader of Brent Council, said: "For a decade and a half, CVS Brent has been a steadfast champion for our borough. The council extends its deepest gratitude to the staff and volunteers who have dedicated themselves to empowering hundreds of local organisations. "We remain fully committed to ensuring Brent retains one of the most dynamic charitable ecosystems in London." The transition to the new support body is already underway.
