Совет Телскама запретил полеты дронов и моделей самолетов на своей территории

A council has introduced a ban on drones and model aircraft being flown over a piece of land. Telscombe Town Council, which owns Telscombe Tye, made the move amid concerns over livestock, public safety and fire risk. In a statement on social media, the council said: "As owners of Telscombe Tye, Telscombe Town Council prohibits the flying of model aircraft and drones from Telscombe Tye. "Thank you for your co-operation in complying with this." A graphic accompanying the post warns that flying and operating aerial devices is prohibited, adding: "Please do not fly or operate any aerial device from this land. "This prohibition applies at all times." It sets out a number of reasons for the restriction, including the impact of drones on grazing sheep who "may be frightened or injured by aerial devices". It also warns that flying aircraft or drones creates "an obvious danger" to the public and "a significant risk of fire, particularly during dry conditions". Telscombe Tye is a large area of registered common land owned by the town council between Saltdean and Telscombe Cliffs, forming part of the South Downs National Park. The site is crossed by public footpaths and bridleways and is grazed by sheep under historic commoners' rights. The Tye was purchased by the council in 1989 in order to protect it from development and preserve it for public enjoyment. The council also prohibits barbecues and fires and requires dogs to be kept on short leads when sheep and lambs are present, with further restrictions during the ground-nesting bird season. While airspace regulation remains the responsibility of the Civil Aviation Authority, its rules state that landowners can restrict activities taking place on land they own, including where drones are launched and operated. The move comes as Brighton and Hove City Council considers banning drone use in parks and public spaces city-wide through a proposed Public Space Protection Order. A website set up by those opposing the ban argues that drone use is already tightly regulated by the Civil Aviation Authority, and that the proposed Public Space Protection Order would "turn a lawful hobby into a criminal offence". A public consultation on the plans closed on August 7, although no update on the outcome had been published at the time of writing.
