В Ньюпорте пройдет встреча с легендой валлийской культуры Карил Парри Джонс

For decades, Caryl Parry Jones has made Wales sing, laugh and occasionally wonder what on earth she might do next. Audiences in Newport will have a rare opportunity to meet the woman behind the songs, characters and unforgettable moments when she appears at Canolfan Bethlehem for a special afternoon in conversation with Menna Richards next month. The event, which takes place at 3pm on Sunday, September 13, will celebrate Ms Parry Jones' extraordinary career across Welsh music, comedy, television and radio. Singer, songwriter, presenter, actress and comedian: she has never been easy to place in a single box. She has written and performed some of Wales’s best-loved popular songs, created wonderfully memorable comedy characters and become one of the country’s most familiar faces and voices. Behind every performance, however, lies a story. There are the people who opened doors, the unexpected turns, the moments of inspiration and the experiences that shaped a life spent entertaining audiences across Wales. Guiding the conversation will be Menna Richards, an experienced broadcaster and former Controller of BBC Cymru Wales. Drawing on her own deep knowledge of Welsh broadcasting and popular culture, Ms Richards will invite Ms Parry Jones to look back over the milestones, mishaps and memorable encounters of her remarkable career.
