A celebrant has been recognised for his work helping couples celebrate the beginning of a new life together. Nick Webb, who runs Lowestoft-based Nick Webb Civil Celebrant has been named Wedding Celebrant of the Year - Suffolk in the 2026/27 London and South East England Prestige Awards. Mr Webb received the accolade following a judging process that included a review of supporting information submitted by nominees, alongside public reviews, testimonials, websites, and social media presence. The award recognises Mr Webb's work creating and delivering bespoke wedding ceremonies across Suffolk. Speaking about the achievement, the celebrant said he was “genuinely honoured and incredibly proud” to have received the award. “Being a celebrant is about so much more than delivering a ceremony; it's about getting to know people, listening to their stories and creating something that feels truly personal to them,” he said. “To have that work recognised as Wedding Celebrant of the Year - Suffolk is incredibly humbling. “I feel very fortunate to do something I love, and even more fortunate to be able to do it here in Suffolk, working with so many wonderful couples and families.” Mr Webb said the recognition held particular significance because his business is firmly rooted in Suffolk and serves local communities across the county. In addition to conducting weddings, he also leads funeral and memorial ceremonies, helping families create personalised tributes to loved ones during difficult times. The organisers of the Prestige Awards said winners are selected by a panel of industry expert judges. The process considers both submitted evidence and publicly available feedback to identify businesses and individuals demonstrating excellence within their field. Reflecting on the honour, Mr Webb said being a celebrant had become an important part of his life and that he strives to make every ceremony meaningful and centred on the people involved. He is also a Lowestoft town councilllor and had sat on Waveney District Council.
