A former Premier League star was spotted having lunch at an East Lancashire pub. Louis Saha, who represented Manchester United, Everton, Fulham, Spurs and Sunderland during a 13-year stint in England, dropped in for a spot of lunch at Edisford Bridge Country Pub. Dan Wade, the manager at the pub, said that the staff were “loving it” and that Saha, a former France international, stopped to sign autographs for visitors. He said: “Yeah, he was great. He had some lunch with us, as he was working up the road and he was doing some children's charity work. "The owner at Tag Sports is a regular here, so he brought him along. “The staff were loving it, and a lot of people in Clitheroe came up and got his autograph.” Louis had been out working with Tag Sports North West, which brought the player to conduct a training session with children from across the Ribble Valley. The company operates coaching sessions, holiday football camps, and community football across the borough. Tom Gavin, the founder of Tag Sports, said: “Finding it quite hard to put into words how good today was. “After months of planning and organising it was all worthwhile. “Louis was absolutely unreal, what an inspiration to all the young footballers. I’m sure when the children look back in a few years' time it will only hit them then just how good today was!” Read more Jeremy Clarkson's partner launches Only Farmers as Lancashire farm signs up This Morning doctor 'nearly had heart defibrillated' after health scare on holiday SpudBros to open new East Lancs site - and 100 customers could get free lunch The French striker was capped 20 times for the national team after signing for Manchester United for £12.4 million midway through the 2003/04 season after an impressive spell at Craven Cottage.
