В Ньютоне завершается строительство торгового центра на месте стадиона «Ньюпорт Каунти»

NEW photographs show the £8 million Newport Retail Park rapidly taking shape, with major retailers now prominently advertised on-site as developers target a pre-Christmas opening. The latest images reveal a large entrance sign listing confirmed occupiers Aldi, B&M, McDonald’s, Costa Coffee Drive Thru, Wren Kitchens and Superdrug — offering the clearest indication yet of what shoppers can expect when the development opens. Extensive glazing has been installed across sections of the development, while contractors continue work on customer entrances and external frontages. The newest photographs also show significant progress on groundworks surrounding the units. Brick retaining walls have been constructed around raised sections of the site, while foundations, drainage infrastructure and landscaped embankments are beginning to take shape. Earth-moving equipment remains on-site, as crews prepare access routes, a huge car park and public areas ahead of the final construction phase. South Coast Leisure, which is delivering the project, last month said progress remained on track, with construction expected to finish next month, if work continues at its current pace. Once complete, the six-acre development will provide more than 6,500 square metres of retail space close to Newport town centre. Construction began in December last year, following the demolition of the former Newport FC ground.
