Совет графства Оксфордшир временно приостановил вывоз холодильников и морозильников из-за нехватки мест для переработки

Oxfordshire residents are being told the council can't collect fridges and freezers for recycling centres for the foreseeable future. Cherwell District Council said it would be unable to collect or process these items because of high demand. In a statement today (Thursday, 13) the council said: "Due to a national shortage of specialist fridge and freezer recycling capacity, like other councils across Oxfordshire we have made the decision to temporarily suspend new bulky waste collection bookings for fridges and freezers. "The issue is affecting local authorities across the country, as a result of reduced processing capacity within the UK's specialist recycling network. "Residents who already have a fridge or freezer collection booked should be reassured that we are continuing to collect appliances that have already been scheduled. "If you are planning to replace a fridge or freezer, please check whether your retailer offers a take-back service for your old appliance. "We apologise for the inconvenience and will provide updates as soon as the situation changes." The council joins a number of councils across the UK unable to collect the cooling appliances because of high demand. It is not know when the council will begin collecting the items again. Instead, residents could give away or sell appliances still in order or use a retailer take-back scheme when buying a replacement. Residents could also store the appliance at home while the ban is in place or use another licensed waste carrier.
