Сотрудники McDonald's в Глазго собрали 17 мешков мусора в рамках акции по очистке города

McDonald’s staff have helped collect 17 bags of rubbish in a community clean-up. Four McDonald’s restaurants in Glasgow joined a litter-picking relay on Tuesday, August 11, as part of a wider effort to leave a positive legacy following the Commonwealth Games and keep the city tidy year-round. The event involved teams from restaurants on Sauchiehall Street, Trongate, Argyle Street and Finnieston Street, all owned and operated by franchisees Matthew Hannam and Marc Shenken. Matthew Hannam, who operates the Sauchiehall and Argyle Street outlets, said: "Seeing our teams come together to support this litter-picking relay has been incredibly rewarding. "It’s a great opportunity to give back to the Glasgow community and highlights the passion and pride our crew have for the areas we serve." "Following on from a brilliant Commonwealth Games, this relay across their four restaurants was an excellent way to maximise the impact of a litter pick throughout the city, highlighted by the number of bags of litter we removed from the streets. "We all have a responsibility to keep Scotland beautiful and, having worked with McDonald's for a number of years, we know it's a lot easier when we all work together." McDonald’s has supported community litter-picking for more than 35 years. Across the UK, its teams conduct three daily litter patrols around every restaurant, covering around 5000 miles each week. Beyond litter picking, the company has installed recycling units in all restaurants to encourage waste separation. It also collects used cooking oil and converts it into biodiesel to power more than half of its delivery fleet.
