Волонтер фестиваля дважды ошибочно приняли за Луиса Теруа, а затем встретились с ним лично

A FRINGE by the Sea (FBTS) volunteer who was mistaken for Louis Theroux twice in one day went on to "surprise" the acclaimed documentary-maker later that weekend. The broadcaster held a sell-out show at FBTS on August 1 and John Gurney, who was among the volunteers helping at the event, had already been mistaken for him by other festival-goers. John said: “The day before, two people had come up to me and said: ‘Are you Louis Theroux?’ "They actually thought I was Louis Theroux!” After waiting at the end of a queue of around 150 people, John, from North Berwick, introduced himself to the star. John said: "Oh he’s lovely, just such a humble guy really. "I mean, I saw his interview and he was really funny - a lot funnier than you’d expect, actually. "I’ve always been a fan of his shows but when I was at the talk, I was like: 'Gosh, he really does look like me.'" John said that Louis acknowledged the likeness, telling him: “Oh yeah, I do see the similarities.” John also puts the likeness down to their similar "laidback vibe" and matching glasses. The pair posed for a photograph and John received a signed copy of Theroux’s book, inscribed: “To John, from Louis, AKA John.” John's two daughters were both incredibly impressed with the photo of the pair, which has since "gone viral" in their circle of friends and family. John retired last year after 30 years with Rockstar Games and has since thrown himself into drumming, embracing life with his band The Waxing Quarter. Alongside volunteering at the North Berwick festival, he played on the Lighthouse Stage with bands including North Shore, Teeny Tiny Big Band and Bare Roots Band.
